Activities

Activities in 2025 (part I)

Few updates about trasformatorio foundation before the summer breack.

Operations
- Trasformatorio is still very much active in Liguria as in previous years.

- Collaborating actively with rossonove.org, in Alassio under the careful lead of Cristina. The artist in residency is doing great, we have supported 3 artists this spring and will support another 2 in the fall. Very nice response from local schools were Cristina organised both presentations and conferences, and other local area focused initiatives. We initiated as well a series of book presentations involving the professional orders of geologists and architects with good public participation.

The theme for the residencies is zero soil consumption, that is a very delicate topic in the area. The call is always open, self produced and all informations are on the impressive rossonove website. As a resident there Federico did a 20 min art film, with the great Violet Scrap that has been presented in many places including the Genova's University Library this spring.

- MAIIIM lab, with whom we also collaborate, has open a very nice and super central gallery space in the harbor of Genova, and preparing residency program for there as well for 2025-26.
Space is less big of the one before so does not depend that much on public funding.
Moreover a new gallery space in Genova's centro storico is also active since a month.

- radioantidoto.org is still very much going on, with on average  4-5 programs a week, some are then diffused as podcasts as well. Check them out from the radio website and if you are curious, the radio is always open and available for those that want to broadcast. On the site you find a link to the community. Ask in the radio chat and some will volunteer to onboard you. No cenorship.

- This spring we did a series of intervention in the small town of Ormea, in Piemonte, we end up being asked to share our radio knowledge for local community shaping, more has yet to come before the end of the year.

- Trasformatorio is part of the RESET! network of independent cultural institutions in Europe. Small network but very active and composed mostly of young people. Federico attended the general assembly in Skopje this april and ended up in the in the group working for radio advocacy together with other radios in europe.

- We are helping out thegreensilkroad.com a sort of spin off concept of Auroville India to establish a foundation and foster regenerative activities -with a focus on slow travel- between India and Europe. Check the website, they are very nice group of people and are growing an incredible diverse network. Not to mention Auroville own lessons that span from Eutopia to alternative living and effective re forestry.

- Federico has a research contract with University of Amsterdam, with a place in the Digital Humanities Group as researcher for EU projects within the group of prof Stefania Milan. Together we have set up Le Grand Jeu as an instrument in one of those, the SPES project. About this endeavor some articles are due to appear in the fall.

Projects

- Trasformatorio is providing effort and ideas into various directions into the EU project space, thanks to the efforts of the active core group. We seem to be requested for our experienced people and for our methods. Two EU innovation projects due at the end of the summer. In case the project passes there will be payed work for many of us, so is worth the pain even if the applications are for technology related research, offcourse in the non-military area that we don't want to contribute to in any case.

We have not being very lucky these years in getting founding, but nevertheless we have been really full on into activities, played, develop and learned together. We have been doing, netto of money, all the things that we care about.
We will be keeping expanding with practice and involvement this network of peers and friends, under duress, and this is the best testament of the relevance of the activities of trasformatorio. Overall we should not only be happy of what we did so far but immensely proud.

Hopefully within the next months we will be able to operate again with funding, being free from the basic need of striving to pay bills could enhance in many ways what Trasformatorio members can accomplish. Yet the experiences we lived together are reverberating in each other work in a splendid way.

To conclude,

To all of you trasformatoristas, have a good summer and try to tune in and help shaping next season. We are open to work, as usual, and to participate, as we should.

Federico
